Paxos, the romantic gateway of God Poseidon, is characterized by turquoise waters, little picturesque villages and a combination of breathtaking cliffs, sheltering caves and beaches. The island complex of Paxos and Antipaxos is located 7 nautical miles south of Corfu and within close proximity to the Greek mainland. Gaios, the capital and main port of the island, which is protected by two islets, Agios Nikolaos and Panagia, where a Venetian castle and Monastery are located, respectively, is a vibrant town, where visitors can enjoy exquisite local cuisine, boutique stores and enjoy cultural events. On the northern side of the island the wonderful town of Lakka is found, with its enclosed bay is surrounded by luxurious vegetation and small local stores.
